DimeVision

DimeVision is a welding practice coach that reads a photo of your bead and tells you the visible defects and what to change on the next pass.

The DimeVision welding app is a practice aid for people learning or practicing on their own, including hobbyists and self-taught welders. Free includes 3 scans a day. It does not certify welds.

What DimeVision does

Weld scan

Take or upload a clear photo of a MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux-Core bead. The app calls out likely visible issues (porosity, undercut, spatter, cold lap, bead irregularity) when the photo is clear enough, plus one next-pass change.

Danny tips

Danny Dime is the in-app coach. Ask a settings or technique question, or talk about the scan you just ran. Free includes 5 messages a day. Pro includes Danny text chat past the free daily cap.

Logbook and portfolio

On Pro, save scans to your logbook and portfolio, plus Danny text chat past the free daily cap.

BeadBuilder and the calculators are free extras on the same account.

What makes DimeVision different

Real coupon photos, not only settings

Fronius WeldConnect and Miller's calculator are better for machine starting numbers. DimeVision reads the bead you just ran.

Next-pass coaching, not a lesson library

SkillCat is better for structured courses. DimeVision is the loop after you weld: see the defect, change one thing, run another pass.

Not a job calculator

Welding Pro is built for cost, WPS, and consumables. DimeVision is practice feedback for people learning the puddle.

Training aid, not a CWI

It is a training aid. It does not certify welds or stand in for code-required inspection. That is the product, not a disclaimer buried in the footer. A CWI or the inspection the code requires still makes the acceptance call.

Who uses DimeVision

The team behind DimeVision

DimeVision is built by Daniel Johnson (Dan) through Danzus Holdings LLC, founded 2025. He is a founder-developer shipping an iOS + web practice coach for people who learn by running beads, not by watching another settings video.

How DimeVision works

  1. Weld a coupon.
  2. Open DimeVision (iOS app first; web also works). Install from the App Store or the download page.
  3. Scan the bead.
  4. Read the visible defects and the next-pass note.
  5. Change one thing. Run another bead.

Free is 3 scans a day. Pro Monthly is $4.99 and Pro Annual is $29.99. On Pro, save scans to your logbook and portfolio, plus Danny text chat past the free daily cap. The 7-Day Scan Practice Plan is $14 one-time if you want a structured week, separate from Pro.
